Webinar-Episode 6-Enterprise Blockchain Adoption-Scaling from Pilot to Production

Share

On the 14th of February, Ghan Vashishtha (cofounder & CTO, Zeeve) presented his 6th Enterprise Blockchain Adoption series episode on the topic “Scaling from Pilot to Production.”

He prefaces the Government Blockchain Association webinar by recapping the happenings of the previous 5th episode, where he discussed about Enterprise Blockchain Adoption and Implementation failure. Some of the points he mentions are common mistakes that lead to the failure of enterprise blockchain systems, top barriers to blockchain adoption, transitioning difficulty, and many more.

Coming back to the point, he provides a glimpse of what’s coming in this episode and starts the webinar.

Ghan starts the session by mentioning the Key considerations before launching your enterprise blockchain solutions, which are:

  • Open innovations are always better
  • A permissioned blockchain doesn’t always have to be private.
  • Transparent governance is the way to go
  • Create a proof of concept (PoC)
  • Choose the blockchain platform

He expands on each point, providing personal/expert insights and takes that are nowhere else available. In the next slide, Ghan brushes upon the Blockchain Decision Tree, which is crucial to direct your blockchain enterprise planning in the right direction.

While the webinar is ongoing, Ghan asks team Zeeve to post links for the previous episodes, and the team does so, and the session continues.

In slide 6, he dives deep into the Cost of Setup, explains the private blockchain cost model and scenario, and expounds on various scenarios when specific inputs are provided.

Slide 7 is when things get interesting as he talks about blockchain implementation strategy and takes a step-by-step approach, as this is where most entrepreneurs stumble. He shares details on viability, functionality, desirability, the importance of developing a PoC, the importance of not underestimating the cost, and post-development scaling. Pay close attention to these implementation steps.

Next, he asks you to pick the type of blockchain – private, public, or hybrid, and details the benefits of each and shares his affinity towards hybrid blockchains that are growing in popularity.

Explaining slide 11, he asks you a pick a chain based on your requirements and use case, and your choices may be Hyperledger, R3, Private Subnets, Polygon Edge, or others.

In the next slide, he requests you not to ponder too deeply about consensus mechanisms and asks you to leave it to the developers.

He follows through by explaining the blockchain production ecosystem where your attention needs to be perched. He details every process step, from value proposition to essential preparation steps.

In slide 15, Ghan explains the scale of key enterprise challenges when adopting blockchain networks with a beautiful representation of the scaling.

In slide 16, he avers how Zeeve fits into this whole concept on the web3 stack and how various blockchain infrastructure providers come together to make matters easy for end users.

He then briefly touches upon the scalability trilemma and how achieving security, decentralization, and scalability is virtually impossible. At last, he leaves viewers with the taxonomy and the comparison of blockchain scalability solutions for viewers to glance through.
