Webinar-The art and science of tokenomics: Key pillars of building a sustainable token economy-Webinar with Dr. Ravi

Dr Ravi Chamria, CEO and Co-Founder of Zeeve, recently conducted an online seminar on the topic of ‘The Art and Science of Tokenomics: Key Pillars of Building a Sustainable Token Economy’. The webinar focused on the importance of tokenomics in order to create a successful digital asset or token. Dr Chamria discussed the key pillars of tokenomics, such as economic principles, game theory, economic incentives, and network effects. He emphasized the need for a comprehensive understanding of tokenomics to create a balanced and sustainable token economy. The webinar also focused on how to leverage tokenomics to build user-friendly applications and platforms that are able to provide valuable services to the users. The webinar concluded with a Q&A session where Dr Chamria answered any questions from the attendees.

Dr Chamria begins by introducing the topic of token economics and emphasizing on how tokenomics has emerged to be one of the core concepts that needs to be taken care of while building a token based venture.

Ravi starts the talk with ‘What is Tokenomics?’ where he states relation between token and economics and how ’game theory’ concepts helps create an ecosystem that encourages user adoption and engagement.He states why we need tokens in the first place – economic side like raising capitals and we can program tokens.

He also mentions the structural side of tokens – used in decentralised governance and in incentive alignments. Ravi shares the difference between economics and token economics on the basis of goal, approach and answers questions.

He talks about how tokenomics is the unsung hero and the designing of tokenomics – supply side, demand side and beyond that.Furthermore, he goes on to explain the supply side – its allocation and observations.

He explains the key points regarding the allocation to avoid centralization risks. He goes on to explain the vesting period. It is the process of gradual release of tokens.

He shows a bar chart to show lock-up periods and cliff lengths have increased over time.He mentions the 3rd area that is emission. Emission is the regular issuance of new tokens in circulations.

He shows the data of the Daily Ethereum burned in the last 30 days as an example of increasing demand and shrinking supply.

The last topic of supply set is airdrops and how it is used as an incentive is also well explained during the webinar. He goes to explain the topic with the examples of Optimism

He concludes the supply side and starts the discussion on the demand side of it – utility, governance and share revenues. He goes on to explain topics in detail.

He takes the example of models like vote escrow other than one-coin-one-vote model and skin in the game. The example of a utility like chain-link is also given for further explanation.

Finally, he shares about the demand side interest alignments and concludes the webinar and opens the floor for questions.
