Zeeve conducted an informative webinar on DeFi basics for a Dubai audience in order to educate and inform them about the advantages of decentralized finance.The webinar included an introduction to DeFi, an overview of its advantages, and a discussion of the most common DeFi protocols. The webinar was well-received by the audience and they had plenty of questions to ask. The webinar was an interactive session, and the audience was able to ask questions and interact with the speaker.

Ravi starts the talk with ‘The Origin of DeFi: The evolution of Financial Technology’ where he takes us back to the 1885 era and explains all the innovations from then to till date.
Ravi shares the definition of the Defi i.e. Financial applications based on blockchain technology and shares his further knowledge.
He explains the journey from CeFi (Centralised Finance) to DeFi (Decentralised Finance) , where he mentions that most of the defi applications are Centrally governed and as time will progress will be a transition from Centrally Governed defi to Defi.
Ravi shares the features of DeFi, including permissionless, programmability, transparency, immutability, etc.
He shares the building blocks of Defi Infrastructure which are –
- Blockchain – Framework on which everything is built
- Cryptocurrency
- Smart Contracts
- Stable Coins, etc.
He further shows a comparison between Traditional Finance vs Decentralized Finance where he mentions the key differentiators of Defi. The benefits of using Defi are also discussed in detail during the webinar. Some of them includes –

An overview of how Defi works from an architecture perspective was also shared by the speaker and then he shares – some major use cases of Defi which includes Asset Management, Gaming, Insurance, etc. Ravi shares the Opportunities in Defi where he mentions about Institutional Defi, smart contracts, permissionless innovation, faster settlement time, etc.
He concludes the webinar by sharing the challenges that Defi is facing right now. Some of them include – regulatory challenges, User Experience, Volatile Nature, etc. And he shares the growth trajectory and a few more statistics of the Defi industry.
Finally, he shares what we can expect from the Defi Industry in 2023 where he mentions Improved Scalability, Interoperability, Mainstream Adoption, regulatory, etc. And open the floor for questions and further discussions.
